Vienna Press Release – December 2025 Vienna’s New Hotels: City Palaces and Magnificent Buildings

Mandarin Oriental: Art Nouveau in a Grand Remix

The most spectacular new hotel opening in Vienna in 2025 is the Mandarin Oriental, which started welcoming guests in the city center in November 2025. The luxury Hong-Kong based hotel brand chose an Art Nouveau building with a remarkable past. The grand building, built shortly after 1900, served as a courthouse for decades. Now it is all about high-end luxury and impresses with an interior design conceived by the renowned London-based architects Goddard Littlefair. Historic Art Nouveau details have been carefully restored. The new design picks up on this design language and creates a striking interplay between Viennese architectural tradition and contemporary international design. Contemporary art, primarily by female artists, is also a theme at the five-star hotel. A timeless, elegant venue that exudes a distinctive sense of style.

The Mandarin Oriental offers 86 rooms and 52 suites. Downstairs, a luxurious spa with a pool awaits. The culinary offering is just as impressive – the large inner courtyard has been covered by a striking glass structure. Two different dining options promise casual dining and fine dining, both with a focus on seasonal ingredients. There is also a coffee lounge and a bar with a relaxed atmosphere.

The Mandarin Oriental also hosts seminars, conferences, and meetings. Seven multifunctional conference rooms named after famous Viennese figures such as Gustav Klimt, Sigmund Freud and Stefan Zweig are available.

Palais Rudolf: chic townhouse with plenty of flair

The Palais Rudolf opened in November 2025 in a particularly charming corner of Vienna’s city center. The hotel is located directly next to Rudolfsplatz and Rudolfspark and is named after Crown Prince Rudolf, the only son of Emperor Franz Joseph I and Empress Elisabeth. The four-star establishment presents itself as an elegant retreat in the heart of Vienna, inspired by the heyday of sophisticated townhouses. With its Venetian and Florentine stylistic elements, the building’s facade is reminiscent of the Italian Renaissance.

Palais Rudolf offers 62 guest rooms and two suites both of which have balconies. The rooms themselves feature soft, warm tones that create an elegant ambiance. The interiors follow suit: the hotel’s interior design is dominated by vintage-style furniture, combining Viennese local color with international design language. Palais Rudolf also has a very strong artistic focus.Works by renowned Austrian artists such as Maria Lassnig, Max Weiler and Christian Ludwig Attersee hang on the walls.

Culinary delights will be available at the Palais Rudolf from 2026 onwards, when Italian cuisine will be served in the sunlit Baroness restaurant. There will also be a chic bar. Palais Rudolf is operated by the European hotel group Miiro, headquartered in London.

Palais Mailberger Hof: feel-good retreat in a prime location

Palais Mailberger Hof is an oasis of calm amid the bustle of Vienna’s city center. Operated by Schiehser Hotels, the establishment is located on Annagasse, a quiet side street off the famous Kärntner Straße. Everything here is steeped in history. The street-facing wing of the Mailberger Hof dates from the 17th century, but the property’s origins go back to the 15th century. Following extensive renovation, contemporary design now meets historic architecture with baroque elegance. Stucco-adorned ceilings and an original tiled stove provide striking accents. The hotel’s leafy inner courtyard is a particularly tranquil spot.

The hotel is a feel-good retreat with 50 uniquely furnished rooms in subtle colors and featuring typical Viennese elements such as Viennese wickerwork. There is also a small sauna area. Fans of exquisite sparkling wine will be in their element here, as the Palais Mailberger Hof has its own champagne bar, the Crux Bar. Radisson Blu Das Triest Hotel, Vienna: a classic reborn

The Radisson Hotel Group has breathed new life into a classic Viennese hotel, having opened the Radisson Blu Das Triest Hotel, Vienna in April 2025. The hotel enjoys an outstanding reputation – Das Triest was Vienna’s very first design hotel. It also tells the story of Vienna’s past as the capital of a vast empire. In the days of horse-drawn carriages, the building was an important coaching inn on the route between Vienna and Trieste. This historical connection provided inspiration for the redesign during the renovation. Maritime elements such as portholes and striking blue accents define the interior design, as do references to Vienna’s art history in the form of details from Gustav Klimt’s Beethoven Frieze.

Italian influences are also evident in the culinary offerings. Italian cuisine with modern accents is served in the in-house Bistro Bertarelli 1894, including fine wines. An exclusive fitness area, a sauna and a leafy green courtyard round out the offering.

The Radisson Blu Das Triest is also a great venue for meetings and conferences. On the hotel’s top floor, there are state-of-the-art conference rooms with panoramic views over the city and access to the rooftop terrace.
