B2B Strategy Boosts Luxury Partnerships

The Vienna Tourist Board continued to pursue and strategically adapt its B2B market development activities in 2024. The main focus was on expanding and nurturing relationships with key accounts through in-person meetings and industry events. This was complemented by tailored communication on various current topics, including sustainable travel. Another key area was the luxury segment: the Vienna Tourist Board intensified its partnerships with a number of renowned luxury travel networks and multipliers including Virtuoso, Serandipians by Traveller Made, the Quintessentially concierge association, and the TEN Group. Appearances at international luxury trade shows such as ILTM in Cannes, the Asia-Pacific region, and North America, as well as the Private Luxury Forum in Copenhagen, reinforced Vienna’s position as a premium destination.

The result: approximately 1,800 new B2B contacts in the premium and luxury segment at 33 events, as well as 350 contacts invited to 42 fam trips and site inspections in Vienna. In addition, 25 digital B2B campaigns reached around 12.8 million contacts.

Vienna's Influence on the World Provides Focus for Tourism Conference

The Museum of Applied Arts (MAK) Tourism Conference was inspired by Composing a Future in 2024. In front of around 500 guests, in his keynote, British journalist and historian Richard Cockett highlighted Vienna’s significant influence on the intellectual and cultural achievements of the West in the 20th century and encouraged participants to reflect on the ways that the city can remain relevant in the 21st century. Lea Karnutsch provided a carefully choreographed transition into the theme for 2025 – “King of Waltz. Queen of Music” – with a contemporary dance.
