International Advent Singing
In the festively decorated ballroom of Vienna City Hall, the 44 th International Advent Singing Festival offers a celebration of sounds and emotions! More than 85 choirs from Austria and abroad will be guests and enchant the audience on each of the four Advent weekends, from Friday to Sunday, between 3:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. With a repertoire of enchanting Advent and Christmas carols from around the world, they create an atmosphere full of contemplation and festive joy!

Choir Festivals in St. Stephen's Cathedral
Choirs have the opportunity to take part in the noon mass at St. Stephen's Cathedral, by singing four to five pieces accompanied by organ. They also have the option of performing in a half-hour concert afterwards.Professor Gerald Wirth, President and Artistic Director of the Vienna Boys’ Choir, will also conduct three days of masterclasses to work on pieces that will be performed with an orchestra and soloists on the third day in St. Stephen’s Cathedral. These festivals take place every year on the first two weekends of July.

Summa Cum Laude - Int. Youth Music Festival Vienna
The Summa Cum Laude - International Youth Music Festival Vienna offers over a thousand young choir members the chance to perform on some remarkable stages in some of the capital’s most famous concert halls: the Musikverein, the Haus der Musik and the MuTh - the concert hall of the Vienna Boys' Choir. The budding singers come away with a lasting impression of Vienna as a city of music. The competition promotes cultural exchange and international contact.

World Peace Choral Festival
The World Peace Choral Festival aims to provide a platform for young people from different countries and cultures around the world to perform, communicate and interact with each other. The festival, which takes place in the second half of July each year, focuses on classical and folk music. Its supporters include the Austrian government, the City of Vienna and the Vienna Boys’ Choir.

World Orchestra Festival
Every July, Vienna hosts the World Orchestra Festival, welcoming international music ensembles – from symphony orchestras to jazz bands, predominantly featuring young musicians. The festival focuses on intercultural exchange as well as personal and artistic development.
The programme includes workshops led by professors from the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. Participants may also take part in a competition. Prestigious concert halls and historic venues provide an outstanding setting for showcasing talent and presenting musical performances.

Haus der Musik as a Performance Venue for Choirs
Located in Vienna’s historic city centre, the Haus der Musik is an interactive sound museum offering innovative, hands-on experiences across six floors. Visitors can explore the legacy of Vienna’s most renowned composers and engage with music through conducting, composing waltzes, and experimenting with sounds and instruments.

- Vienna Master Courses
The programme focuses on the Viennese Classical and Romantic repertoire (Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Bruckner, Brahms). In addition to technique, interpretation and performance practice, participants explore international concert and opera repertoire as well as gain access to 20th-century and contemporary music.
The masterclasses take place in July and August at Schloss Laudon.

- Vienna Music Seminar
The Vienna Music Seminar enjoys a strong international reputation. Around 350 students from approximately 30 countries participate annually in its summer masterclasses, held at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.
Courses are offered in piano, voice, song interpretation and accompaniment, violin, viola, cello, flute, clarinet, saxophone, trombone and chamber music. Conducting classes are also particularly popular.

- Visiting the Vienna Boys Choir
Choirs have the opportunity to visit the Vienna Boys Choir and participate in joint singing sessions. Upon request, programmes may include a workshop, a rehearsal and a private concert with the choir.
Music-focused groups can also visit without active participation, gaining insights into the daily life of the choir: their residence at the Augarten Palace, rehearsal rooms and ceremonial halls, as well as attending a rehearsal.
