Destination stewardship is a process that promotes tourism that benefits everyone, in accordance with shared values and common responsibility. A key component is collaboration with diverse partners: from culture, accommodation, gastronomy, and business to politics and urban planning. Together, goals are defined, transparency is established, and the impact of tourism is continuously measured.
When necessary, joint action programs are derived from these findings. These are flexible measures and concrete initiatives designed to address current challenges. Everyone can participate in these action programs: Vienna Tourist Board in its role as destination marketing and management organization, in collaboration with city stakeholders and the diverse businesses within the visitor economy ecosystem.
This fosters a responsible approach to the destination that benefits both residents and visitors.
