Energy Management

Energy management plays a critical role in achieving decarbonization goals. By strategically addressing energy consumption, tourism stakeholders can contribute significantly to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Measuring energy consumption in the tourism sector however is an extremely challenging task. In addition to the energy directly attributable to tourism used for transportation, accommodation, etc., it is particularly difficult to capture indirect energy consumption—namely, the energy used in the production of goods and services that are shared by both tourists and the local population.
