The Vienna Tourist Board first started making a concerted effort to target the international luxury segment in 2011 with a range of activities tailored to selected international markets, as well as through workshops designed to keep partners in incoming markets up to speed on all the latest developments and to leverage synergies. Many of Vienna’s top purveyors of luxury goods and experiences appear in the new video. The illustrious locations featured include the Vienna State Opera, the Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna, Hotel Sacher and the Spanish Riding School.
Vienna’s focus on the luxury travel segment recently earned it formal recognition – with the Most Desirable Destination 2021 award from luxury travel network Traveller Made®. The Austrian capital saw off stiff competition from Zurich, Japan, New Zealand, South Korea and Australia en route to picking up the coveted title in the Preferred Destination category.
