2018: La Ronde of Viennese Modernism
"La Ronde of Viennese Modernism" is an interactive installation that motivates visitors to discuss the topic for the year "Beauty and the Abyss" and its protagonists Gustav Klimt, Egon Schiele, Otto Wagner and Koloman Moser.
The works shown at the evening event were selected by art historian Dr. Christian Witt-Dörring. They are, if you will, representative of the art epoch of "Viennese Modernism" and the social attitude in Vienna around 1900. All of the items shown are on permanent display in Viennese art institutions or in the public space.
The object itself is inspired by Otto Wagner's Post Savings Bank.
Arthur Schnitzler's play "La Ronde" celebrated its premiere in Berlin on 23 December 1920. The "La Ronde of Viennese Modernism" was also presented to our partners for the first time in Berlin. After Japan in the spring, installations will be held in 7 European cities.
