The capital’s standing as a gastro hotspot is recognized by numerous respected publications, including the annual Main Cities of Europe Michelin Guide. Amador, Juan Amador’s restaurant in the nineteenth district, sensationally picked up three stars in the 2019 guide, giving Vienna – and Austria, for that matter – its first ever three-Michelin-starred restaurant.
Steirereck in the Stadtpark was awarded two stars in the 2019 Michelin Guide, and was also ranked 14th in the World’s 50 Best Restaurants in 2018. Konstantin Filippou, Mraz & Sohn and Silvio Nickol Gourmet-Restaurant im Palais Coburg were the other recipients of two stars.
Aend, Walter Bauer, Le Ciel by Toni Mörwald (Grand Hotel Wien), Edvard (Palais Hansen Kempinski Vienna), Das Loft (SO/ Vienna), Pramerl & the Wolf, Shiki and Tian were each rated with a Michelin star in 2019.
