Vienna Media News 05/2017 Sacher to go

Individual pieces of original Sacher Torte are now on sale in attractive card packaging with a wooden fork to enjoy on a spontaneous picnic, as a tasty snack on the go or as a quirky gift for loved ones back home. Baked freshly every day, the new Sacher to go is available from Café Sacher Wien and costs EUR 6.50.

The original Sacher Torte has been handmade since 1832 according to the original recipe devised and perfected by Franz Sacher. More than 360,000 of these special chocolate cakes are baked each year. Available from Sacher Hotels and Sacher Cafés in Vienna, Salzburg, Graz and Innsbruck, they are also sent out to addresses all over the world. The secret recipe and the packaging – a luxury wooden presentation box – have remained unchanged for more than 180 years now. The original Sacher Torte is best enjoyed with unsweetened whipped cream and a nice cup of tea or coffee.
