Vienna bursts into spring

Other than that, Vienna has all sorts of open-air pleasures to offer in spring and early summer – from the "Schanigarten" outdoor seating areas in front of cafés to the Vienna Prater a modern world of adventure, with 250 attractions offering action and fun – including the largest chairoplanes in the world. Also, there are cafés, restaurants and snack bars, which offer culinary delights from a small snack to a full-scale dinner. Entertainment and Enjoyment wait visitors.

The most famous attraction of the Vienna Prater is the Wiener Riesenrad, the Giant Ferris Wheel. Since 1897, one iscarried upwards at a leisurely pace. Somewhat faster „vehicles“ than the Giant Ferris Wheel are available nowadays for cheerful aerial rides - with speed to match the times. For example, the Turbo Boost and Bungee Jump, Ejection Seat and Space Shot provide extreme thrills of speed. Many families visit Prater for the amusement park. However, Prater has a completely different side too: 6 million m2 in area, almost twice the size of Central Park in New York – Prater Hauptallee: 4.5 km long; 2.500 trees.

Special Tip: An entertaining Easter party awaits visitors young and old on Easter Sunday on 27 March 2016 in the Prater. There’s live music, an Easter parade and a colorful children’s program with theater and a thrilling magic show.
