The Giant Ferris Wheel, St. Stephen's Cathedral and the Ringstrasse, Wiener Schnitzel, apple strudel and Heuriger wine taverns: there are many things about Vienna that people all over the world are aware of, but the capital also has its lesser-known, surprising and downright strange sides. The Vienna Tourist Board has issued an appeal for ViennaFunFacts, in a quest to find out the weirdest information and most pointless trivia. Vienna experts can submit their outlandish ideas via the website or on social media using the hashtag #ViennaFunFacts until August 31, 2014. Users can also submit incorrect ViennaFunFacts – it’s down to their peers to work out who is telling the truth! A jury will reward the most creative entries with Vienna-related books and small gifts. The main prize is a trip to Vienna in autumn 2014 and the chance to appear in another fun fact video.
