Vienna Media News 03/2014 A night with the Vienna Philharmonic

Free admission, no reservations, no limits on numbers: the Summer Night’s Concert by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra in the Schönbrunn Palace Schlosspark is open to all fans of classical music – last year around 100,000 people attended this free open air extravaganza. The stage is located in the park in front of the Neptune fountain, with the Baroque palace, the former summer residence of the ruling Habsburgs, providing the backdrop. Christoph Eschenbach will conduct the 2014 concert, which also stars Lang Lang as soloist.

The concert begins at 9pm when night begins to fall. Seats are limited, with places available from 6.30pm onwards. The three main entrances to the grounds of Schönbrunn Palace will remain open until 1am on the night of the concert.
