Vienna Media News 3/2013 Vienna Pride and Rainbow Parade

Vienna Pride and the Rainbow Parade are the absolute highlights of the gay and lesbian year in Vienna. The Pride Village will take up residence on Heldenplatz next to the Ringstrasse boulevard from June 11-16, 2013. Traditionally, this tent city has always offered up an inspired mix of culture, entertainment, fine food, information and party fun. And on June 15, 2013 it will be time for the Rainbow Parade to march on the capital's showpiece Ringstrasse boulevard.

Gays, lesbians, drag queens, leather boys and the transgender party crowd take to the streets on floats, bikes, horse-drawn carriages or their own two feet to take a stand against discrimination. The Ringstrasse is closed to traffic for the duration of the parade. After the post-parade demonstration, Vienna's clubs will open their doors for an unforgettable party night lasting until the sun comes up.
