Vienna Media News 04/2012 Life Ball #20

Austria's largest AIDS charity event will be all about raising awareness and tackling prejudice in 2012. On May 19 the motto of Fight the Flames of Ignorance will set the tone for this party inside City Hall and on the square in front of it, as the element of fire brings the current four-year cycle to a close. At the same time this year's Life Ball marks the event's 20th anniversary. The first batch of ticket promotions and international packages are already available on the Life Ball website (www.lifeball.org).

One of the world's biggest AIDS charity events, the Life Ball is unprecedented on the international stage. This laid-back party night featuring out-of-the-ordinary live acts celebrates the beauty of life itself, sending out a loud and clear signal in the fight against HIV and AIDS. The flamboyant fashion show, which takes place before the ball at City Hall Square, is free and open to the public. Each year it attracts up to 40,000 spectators.
