Vienna Media News 03/2012 Visuals and VJs

In 2012 activities surrounding the sound:frame festival will center on two weekends in April (12-14 and 19-22). International video artists will showcase their works and installations at three venues in the city - the Museum of Applied Arts/Contemporary Art (MAK), the brut performance theater and popular club, Fluc. Dubbed "substructions", the 2012 edition of the festival will take a look at some of the external influences shaping the latest trends and developments on the audio visual scene. Topics such as cultural economy, positioning works according to artistic contexts, and sustainability will all be up for discussion.

The packed sound:frame line-up will include special audio-visual acts, a range of local and international live music outfits and DJs, as well as live performers and installation artists. From 12-29 April, 2012 a special exhibition held at the MAK to coincide with the festival will also explore the subject of substructions.
