The Museum Moderner Kunst Stiftung Ludwig Wien (MUMOK) at Vienna's MuseumsQuartier is closed from May 30 - September 9, 2011. The MUMOK's new director Karola Kraus commissioned the renovations which will include upgrades to the museum shop and the café. The new-look museum will reopen on September 9, 2011 in time for its tenth anniversary with a new exhibition, The Museum of Wishes.

The Jewish Museum in the first district is currently closed for refurbishment and opens its doors to visitors again September 2011. The Judenplatz Museum - a branch of the Jewish Museum - is open as usual while the Dorotheergasse site is closed for refurbishment. It documents the history of Vienna's Jews in the Middle Ages.
