Vienna Media News 03/2021 New video database

A new German and English database containing stock footage went online on January 11, 2021: footage.vienna.info gives film and video image producers access to a host of uncut footage of Vienna.

And thanks to this improved online service, it's much more straightforward to search for specific material or browse for inspiration – and the same applies to downloading files.

The new resource currently contains 167 preview videos. After registering at https://foto.vienna.info/footage-dev/register users have access to around 800 different videos. In all, around 1 terabyte of material is available, the majority of which is in 4k.

Vienna from every angle

The content includes shots of the city from the air, exterior shots, interior shots and events and cuisine related footage.

Among the highlights are views of the city’s vineyards, the Danube Island and green spaces from on high. Monumental buildings such as the Parliament, the University and the Vienna State Opera can be seen standing shoulder to shoulder on the Ringstrasse boulevard. Interior shots reveal what life is like at a Viennese ball and show Klimt’s Kiss at the Belvedere in all its majesty. Eating and drinking culture captured on camera: from cozy coffeehouses to a Wiener Schnitzel at a restaurant.

A handy full text search function allows users to quickly find the content they are looking for using keywords. The website also suggests videos to help inspire creatives looking for fresh perspectives, angles and storylines.

Who is permitted to download footage from the site?

Users are permitted to access and use material from the platform provided that it is used to promote Vienna as a tourist destination. Additionally, the user must work in one of the following fields:
